Weekend Lookbook: June 23- June 25

Part of having a lifestyle blog is the ability to share with you what we've been up to. Most of my "living" takes place on the weekends, so I'd like to start a Weekend Lookbook series-- sharing the high and low of our weekend!

FRIDAY:

The weekend for us starts on Friday during Happy Hour. My friends and I love Miami's best kept secret, the Happy Hour at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. The service is phenomenal (but we also attribute it to the fact that we order the same thing and sit in the same place week after week so it's easy to know what we like). With your drink you receive complimentary warm roasted mixed nuts and wasabi nuts (careful with those!).

Tip- Certain drinks and wine are 50% off from 5-7PM Monday thru Friday.

After Happy Hour we visited the Pottery Barn at Merrick Park. PB is running a dining special of 25% off all dining tables and chairs (ends tonight). Sergio and I had already checked out a table, but were between two options so we had our best friends (aka "kids") help make the final decision. Haha! And of course, they coerced us to get two end chairs they loved-- what can I say they have great taste. I'll share how it looks in our space soon!

Tip- Always ask if you can buy the floor model, you get 30%off on that item and you won't have to wait the 2-4 weeks for the item to arrive, much less delivery fee if you pick it up yourself. Of course inspect the floor model for any imperfection!

SATURDAY:

Saturday was all about some final touches to or renovation project. My mother-in-law helped Sergio install the baseboards and my dad and friends helped finish the painting. My father-in-law took care of fixing our door leading to the backyard (long story short the wood floors installed by the contractor was too high and blocked our door). I cannot forget my mom and aunt who help clean the place up and remove the excess dust!

After our busy day, came time for some play. Isis and I love reggaeton and Ozuna was performing at The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. We dolled ourselves up and headed straight to the concert. It was so much fun and we loved being surprised by one of my favorite artists Wisin.

SUNDAY:

Sunday was supposed to be a day of moving certain stuff and picking up our dining table. Well... that was short lived. My mother (aka Mrs. Impatient) called us early enough to say they wanted to help us pack and that my uncle (who owns a moving company and was scheduled to pick up our dining table) suggested that he may as well pick everything else up from our apartment since we live a block from Merrick Park. The situation of course was that Sergio and I had plans with a client of mine and would not be available after 1:30PM. That didn't stop them, they assured us not to worry and they would take care of it. Honestly, this is stuff only parents do for their kids.

Well while my parents and uncle moved us, we went off to enjoy The Jewish Bride at the Adrienne Arsht Center. This was a world premiere of a collaboration between the Miami City Ballet and The Cleveland Orchestra. Amazing performance! BRAVO!

By the time we got home after having dinner with my clients, our house was waiting for us with even our bed made! What a beautiful way to end the weekend and finally move-in to our new home!

Love always,

Jenni
