Victoria’s Garden Baby Shower

On November 10th, we celebrated our baby shower with some of our closest family and friends. My vision was to create a garden theme and incorporate it throughout the shower.

We selected the Biltmore Hotel, with its beautiful landscape and decor as the perfect venue. *TIP: I highly encourage you to consider the Biltmore when planning your next affair; their staff was incredible, very accommodating, and their prices were very reasonable. After selecting the venue, came time to incorporate our theme. I had dreamt of one VERY long table with a flower runner extending from one end to the other. We were so lucky to find Wendy from “A La Flowers” to recreate our vision. Wendy also helped us design our favor station. I believe in giving a take-home gift for our guests that they will be able to use or eat. But the question became well how do we stay true to our theme? We considered gifting succulents and while they are my favorite, I just did not feel they went with our garden theme. So... thanks to countless hours of Pinterest we came up with a flower bar station. Guests were given vases and asked to select their favorite flowers from the flower bar station to take home. When it came to pictures, I didn’t know if I wanted a traditional maternity photo shoot or if I wanted professional photos of our baby shower... so why not combine both? We hired an incredible photographer that agreed to dedicate an hour prior to the baby shower to take pictures of Sergio, Mia and I at the venue and then more pictures of the baby shower. My final piece of advice, don’t stress the small stuff. I spoke to so many moms after my baby shower about things not going as planned and how upset it made them feel. As much as we planned the perfect event, the Miami sun was not cooperating in mid November and as a result we transferred our event for the last part of games and cake cutting to an indoor room... where it was nice and cool. Not exactly as planned, but good enough. So just as child labor and child rearing will be full of unexpected surprises, so is our baby shower (lol)! The important part is remembering the people that were there to celebrate you and your baby. On behalf of Sergio and I, THANK YOU for making our day so special! We’re so grateful for each and every one of you! Here are some pictures of our event, I hope you enjoy them and find some inspiration for your future event.
